Soweit die Highlights aus der Beschreibung im Store. Anlässlich des Erscheinens vom analogen polyphonen Synthesizer-Studio iPolysix für iPad und iPad mini (s. Abb. o., ausführlicher Test folgt demnächst in diesem Theater) sind auch alle anderen Software-Synths von KORG bis 31. Dezember 2012 um fünfzig Prozent ermäßigt! Tönendes Video von iPolysix:

iPolysix (und iMS-20) derzeit um 13,99 Euro statt 29,49. 29,4 Megabyte Downloadvolumen. Solche Aktionen vom jahrzehntelangen Kult-Synth-Profi KORG (Wikipedia) finden ein- bis zweimal pro Jahr statt. Die Software war noch nie günstiger erhältlich (abgesehen von der jüngsten Euro-Preisstufen-Erhöhung im iOS App Store).

Mit Ausnahme von iKaossilator (Universal-App) sind das alles iPad-Apps (empfohlen ab iPad 2). Mit dem Apple Camera Connection Kit steht Echtzeit-Hardwaresteuerung via MIDI/USB zur Verfügung (außer iKaossilator). Die meisten KORG Synths unterstützen WIST (Wireless Sync-Start Technology). Frühe und kurze Rezension zum Unterschied zwischen iMS-20 und Polysix:

iMS-20 features 2 x monophonic synthesizers, iPolysix 2 x polyphonic synthesizers. This means that iPolysix is more suitable for traditional chord based music, and the iMS-20 for weirder experimental sounds. But with some effort you can make the iPolysix sound pretty weird as well, especially since they both feature a load of awesome effects. Both apps just sound different, also because the synths in iMS-20 have 2 oscillators, in iPolysix they have 1, and the filters are different.

Kurztest hier am iPad 4 mit Referenz-Kopfhörern: Top-Sound wie gewohnt von Korg! Umfassend ausgestattet, zahlreiche Effekte inklusive. Eine voll funktionstüchtige (und nicht nur mit dem Sharing-Dienst SoundCloud stark erweiterte) Software-Replik eines der am meisten verkauften Synths der Welt (seit 1981). Der mit iPolysix gelieferte Sequencer ist brauchbar, gleiches gilt für den programmierbaren Mixer und die Aufnahmefunktion; alles ein wenig moderner und praxisgerechter (zum Erstellen kompletter Tracks) als beim iMS-20, der nur einen leicht antiquierten Sequencer bietet.
